The Hawks have arrested a controversial Durban-based Nigerian Pastor, who is wanted in connection with alleged sexual assault, at  Port Elizabeth Airport.

He is accused of taking girls to his uMhlanga House in KwaZulu-Natal where he allegedly sexually molested them.

The Hawks initially planned his arrest at his Bloemfontein Congregation last Friday, but he did not arrive to deliver his sermon.

The Hawks pounced on the pastor at the Port Elizabeth International Airport upon his arrival from KwaZulu-Natal. It is believed that they were given false information regarding his flight details. Members of the Hawks arrested him in a toilet cubicle at the airport, where its believed he was seeking refuge.

Hawks spokesperson Robert Netshiunda says,  “After we got information that his flight was delayed, we did not just believe at first value. We took an initiative as the hawks to go to the airport ourselves. Only to find that the flight was on scheduled time, and when we had to get to our man, he did not use the way we thought he will use. We had to go after him.”

The pastor of Jesus Dominion International Ministry is accused of taking young girls to his house in Mhlanga, KwaZulu-Natal where he allegedly sexually molested them.

Hawks spokesperson Robert Netshiunda says the accused lied about his flight details today, which resulted in him being arrested at the airport.

“After we got information that his flight was delayed, we did not just believe at first value. We took an initiative as the hawks to go to the airport ourselves. Only to find that the flight was on scheduled time, and when we had to get to our man, he did not use the way we thought he will use. We had to go after him. We arrested him for trafficking in persons, we are laying that charge now, but because we might investigate further, there is a possibility of us adding more charges on to that one.”

Meanwhile, members of the Jesus Dominion International Ministry are singing songs in defence of their leader inside their church at Govan Mbeki Avenue in the city.
